About Us
A small church with a big heart — rooted in faith, grounded in Scripture, and open to everyone.

A Family of Faith in the Hill Country
The Concan Church of Christ is a small, close-knit congregation located in the beautiful Frio River valley of Texas Hill Country. We're not a megachurch — we're a family. And like any good family, we love deeply, serve faithfully, and welcome warmly.
Whether you've been a Christian for decades or you're just beginning to explore faith, you belong here. We believe church should feel like home — a place where you can be yourself, ask questions, and grow closer to God alongside people who genuinely care about you.
Love God. Love People. Serve Faithfully.
Our mission is simple: to follow Jesus, to love people well, and to be a light in the Frio River valley. We do that through worship, Bible study, prayer, and genuine community — both inside our building and out in the world around us.
Rooted in Scripture
Christ-Centered
Jesus is at the heart of everything we do — our worship, our teaching, and our relationships.
Scripture-Led
We look to the Bible as our guide for faith and life. It's our authority and our source of truth.
Kingdom-Focused
We're here to serve God's kingdom — not build our own brand. It's about His work, not ours.
Baptism as Response
We understand baptism as a faith response to God's grace — the moment we're united with Christ.
Weekly Communion
We share the Lord's Supper every Sunday, remembering Jesus' sacrifice and our hope in Him.
What Are Churches of Christ?
Churches of Christ are independent, autonomous congregations united by a shared commitment to following the New Testament as closely as possible. We're not part of a denomination — each church is self-governing and self-supporting.
What connects us is a heart for Scripture, a love for simple worship (including a cappella singing and weekly communion), and a desire to be the church that Jesus established — nothing more, nothing less.
If that sounds refreshing to you, we think you'll feel right at home here.
A Heart for Our Community
From the families who call Concan home year-round to the visitors who come through for a weekend on the river — this community matters to us. We believe the church exists not for itself, but for the people around it.
